DocuFun app privacy policy

Last updated: 2026-10-17

This policy explains how the DocuFun app for Android (“the app”) handles information. The app is made by NextOne Labs LLC (“we”, “us”). The website docufun.com has its own privacy policy.

Your documents

Everything the app does with your files (opening and reading them, searching, editing, creating, converting to PDF, extracting ZIP archives and reading aloud) happens on your device. Your documents, and anything you create from them, are not sent to us or to anyone else. Documents are displayed by the app’s own built-in viewer, which is not allowed to load anything from the internet.

The app opens files you choose with Android’s file picker or share with it from other apps. If you choose to give it “All files access”, the app uses that permission only to find and list the documents on your device so you can open them. You can turn it off at any time in Android’s settings.

Scanning, text recognition and read aloud

Document scanning and text recognition (photo to text) use Google ML Kit, which runs on your device. The scanner and the recognition models are delivered and updated by Google Play services. Scanned images and recognized text are processed on your device and are not uploaded by the app.

Read aloud uses your device’s text-to-speech service with voices installed on your device. That service is part of your device’s software (usually provided by Google or your device maker) and follows its provider’s privacy policy.

Information stored on your device

To make the app work, it keeps a small amount of information in its private storage on your device:

We cannot access this information. You can clear your recent files in the app, and everything is deleted when you clear the app’s data or uninstall the app. If you use Android backup or move to a new phone with Android’s transfer tool, your settings (and, when transferring, your recent files list) may be copied to your Google backup or new device, which Google handles under its own policies.

Purchases and subscriptions

DocuFun Pro is sold through Google Play Billing. Google handles the payment. We receive a purchase token and the status of your purchase from Google (for example, whether your subscription is active, or that you bought the lifetime option), and use them only to unlock Pro features and restore your purchase. We do not receive your name, email address or payment card details. Google processes your purchase under the Google Privacy Policy.

Advertising

If you use the free version, the app shows ads through AppLovin MAX, an advertising platform run by AppLovin, and the ad networks it works with (“mediated networks”). Ads never appear while you are reading a document. To deliver ads, measure how they perform and prevent fraud, AppLovin and these networks may collect:

These companies handle this data under their own privacy policies, including AppLovin’s privacy policy. The app never shares your documents or their contents with them.

Consent and your choices. Where the law requires it, such as in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the app asks for your consent with a consent form before personalized ads are shown. Where US state privacy laws apply, you can opt out of the use of your information for targeted advertising. You can review or change your choices at any time in the app under Settings → Privacy choices. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your device’s settings. If you subscribe to DocuFun Pro or buy the lifetime option, the app shows no ads.

Children

The app is a general-purpose tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us and we will help.

Data retention

We don’t operate servers that store information about you, so we keep nothing about you ourselves. Information on your device stays until you delete it, clear the app’s data or uninstall the app. Google keeps purchase records, and AppLovin and its partners keep advertising data, for the periods described in their own policies.

Security

Because your documents never leave your device, they are protected by your device’s own security. Network connections the app makes (Google Play, Google Play services and ads) use encrypted HTTPS.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to the use of your personal information. Because the app keeps your information only on your device, you control it directly as described above. For advertising data, use Settings → Privacy choices, your device’s advertising ID settings, or contact AppLovin. You can also contact us for help.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change significantly affects how your information is handled, we will also let you know in the app.
